On the following pages you'll find the global figures and statistics concerning the fruits and vegetables produced in France but also the statistics of products imported in France by European and world fresh fruit importers. The yearly statistics pages concern the imported fresh produce marketed on the French markets (especially the Paris Rungis Wholesale Market) by NOVAGRIM but also other market operators and the produce of local French growers and importers for the years 2006,2007,2008,2009 and 2010.

The fruits are specially imported by importers and exporters from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Chile, Colombia , Costa Rica, Cyprus, Egypt, Florida, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Israël, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Madagascar,Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand,Paraguay, Peru,Portugal, Poland, Reunion, Senegal, South africa, Spain, Tunisia,Turkey, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam. The daily wholesale prices of these products are regularly indicated on the "Prices " page depending on the import seasons but also the local harvest seasons in France. Since 1999 NOVAGRIM works hard as a grower / importer and markets quality fresh produce such as : tomato, grapefruit, orange,easy peelers , lemon , minneola, honey pomelo, onion, shallot, garlic, pepper, artichoke, avocado, asparagus, pepper, French green beans, snow peas, sugar snaps , zucchini , courgette, , eggplant, cucumber , peach, apricot, plum, nectarine, pomegranate, kiwi , avocado, butternut, chestnut, sweet cherry and fresh fig .  Our imported products are distributed at the Paris-Rungis Wholesale Market ( M.I.N de Rungis ) and to the French supermarket chains .

NOVAGRIM will import 5 000 tons of tomatoes, 1 500 tons of vegetables, 300 tons of grapefruits, 200 tons of oranges, 300 tons of easy peelers, 100 tons of lemons, 300 tons figs, 300 tons of sweet cherries & 500 tons of onions and shallots during the coming season 2023 - 2024.

Some key features about the market :  

A surface area of 232 hectares with more than 727,000 m2 under cover, including 470,000 m2 of buildings used for commercial purposes. • 18 million European consumers are supplied from here, including 12 million within a radius of 150 km around Paris, i.e. one fifth of the French population. • • 

For the Paris region alone Rungis Market represents:  • 50% of sea and river produce • 45% of fruits and vegetables • 35% of meat produce  • 50% of cut flowers and potted plants. 

The Market achieves sales for about 7,5 billion Euros . • 1,600,000 metric tons of incoming food produce in 2006 ( 1,508,380 tons in 2007 & 1,475,005 tons in 2008 ), 38 million bunches of cut flowers and 20 million units of potted plants. • 

Outstanding marketability due to its five activity sectors that match the physical market: fruits and vegetables, meat produce, sea and river produce, dairy and poultry produce, traiteur produce and other food products, gardening and decoration products. In addition to other supplementary activities including the Business Centre and the warehouse zone. • 

A group of 1,280 companies including 450 wholesalers, importers and small parts sellers, 150 brokers and import-export companies, 200 producers-sellers, 400 various service companies that represent overall 12,500 jobs, 7,300 of which are at wholesalers. • 22,000 regular buyers come to Rungis daily : retailers, restaurateurs, wholesalers, import-export companies, GMS. • 

Continuous product quality controls made by State departments (DGCCRF - Directorate-General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and the Repression of Fraud - , and Veterinary Services) and a customs centre specialised in handling perishable products, for non-member countries. • 

Four entries, 27 through-roads recording and an average throughflow of 26,000 vehicles per day, including 3,000 large tank-trucks. Although 2006 was marked by modest economic growth in France and a 2 % drop in household food purchases, , the catering activity and export markets showed better results in 2007 & 2008. 

In this patchy economic climate, a preliminary poll revealed that Rungis International Market had successfully maintained its market share, demonstrating a 2 % rise in overall turnover for Market operators, importers and wholesalers.
